Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Update: My landlord served me a 3 day notice to cure violation or move out over keeping my window open. It's not on my lease. It's not a violation.
24·9 days agoI don’t have to know a single one of those details, because I know for a fact that AC does not create a magic pressure differential within a house relative to the outside that could possibly negate hot humid air intrusion. That is your assumption, not mine. When the window is open the temperature differential across the opening with cause convention (mixing of the air). If his room actually is positively pressured enough relative to other rooms, then he is causing hot humid air to be pulling interior at other locations around the house.
I have sympathy for OP, but in 90F, that sucks for whoever is paying for the AC.

34·9 days agoWhat magic pressure differential are you referring to? A/C recirculates indoor air and has slightly positive rooms and slightly negative rooms, but will always be net ~1ATM of pressure. If his room has slightly positive pressure and he opens the window, then guess what, hot humid air is being pulling into the house in other people’s rooms, hallways, bathrooms. This would also explain why he doesn’t experience the issues it would cause.
You got me. I definitely did exactly that, and it is not a strawman argument at all. Good one. Hope you play as well as you argue.
Yes, and no one invaded anyone on October 7th 2023. Of course Israel does not have the moral high ground, but the logic could go either way.
I’m proud of you for being a musician. As a fellow musician I understand that when I play at a venue where people on not there to specifically hear my band play, we play at a completely different volume and take more breaks. Because people hate a random band dominating the random bar they chose to go to in order to talk to their friends.
It kinda sounds like you don’t have great musician etiquette and some main character syndrome.
I should have mentioned this was at a public park with hundreds of people, no one asked or hired the dude to be there, and he was playing shitty music loud enough that you could not here the explosions. If you did that, you are also terrible.
Someone blasted their playlist during a citywide fireworks display…why would I want to hear the explosions.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•[SERIOUS] what conspiracy theory do you believe is 100% true?
2·23 days agoYeah, that part is even more suspicious.

31·26 days agoI actually believe he killed himself, but it is still a conspiracy, because he had tried before and they purposely broke all suicide watch protocols including leaving a ton of linens in his cell (he made multiple nooses), no roommate, and no one checking. They were paid to make sure he had plenty of opportunities to kill himself.
I’ve heard numerous people complain about getting a raise because they would end up in a higher tax bracket and come out net negative…I don’t think most people understand how tax brackets work.

I don’t know about the ethics, but forcing people to carry to term a baby with a significant developmental disability is unconscionable to me. It is very likely to ruin their marriage, finances, sanity, life, but the people that manage to do it are saints.
