All you’ve done is make accusations of bigotry without proof

    https://jlai.lu/post/41066117

~25+ occurrences words referring almost exclusively to leftist political activism including but not limited to criticising american supremacy, the israeli-led genocide, racism, white supremacy, capitalism, paedophilia…

~30+ occurrences of various sentences almost exclusively used by leftist circles, including but not limited to criticising american supremacy, the israeli-led genocide, racism, white supremacy, capitalism, paedophilia…

Banning occurrences of criticising genocide, criticising racism, criticising white supremacy, criticizing paedophilia…yes, that is what we call bigots, racists, supremacists…because they believe those things are good. They do not want criticism of these things.

then turn them into a call to action against a person and their “friends”

I realize english is not everyone’s first language. As such, please take a look at my comment you quoted. I did not include an apostrophe on bigot as I am not assigning ownership to a bigot. I am instead calling people to expose bigots in general and calling these people who call out bigotry friends, as in, my fellows who seek to call out harmful actions like these. How you appear to have read it though would look like:

    expose the bigot’s friends

If you can be this flippant and disingenuous in public, I can only imagine what people like you are saying in private DMs.

I don’t have any DMs actually (didn’t know you could on Lemmy actually haha.) Instead, everything is public. Feel free to look through all of my comments and posts. You’ll probably see why I was included in the list. Because I directly confront (aka expose) when someone is being bigoted, racist, or just a capitalist cuck in general.

Case in point, you ignored my comments on your other posts and instead answered here. I asked you to define doxxing and explain how I am clearly and legibly. You attempted one and ignored the other. You, instead, are attempting to equate calling out someone for harassing others (via secretly silencing them simply based on their ideology, race, views, identity, etc) as harassment itself. You have now made an accusation yourself that is next to impossible to even provide proof against, attempting to say that I must be a terrible person in private DMs, ones that only I and specific individuals have access to. You may have done this knowingly or unknowingly, but this is meant as a trap similar to proving a negative which is not possible, meant to put me on the backfoot. However, I can confidently claim no such DMs exist…as I didn’t even know DMing was a function. And as with my other public exchanges, I prefer to keep things in public, as you can see throughout my comment history. Just as I continue to do with you. I wonder what’s in your DMs bucko, considering who you’re attempting to protect.

I’d like to give you the benefit of the doubt, but you’re effectively running cover for the tesseract dev while attacking someone who is saying it is good that the tesseract dev was exposed to what they were doing. And that is why you’re getting downvoted while I am getting upvoted. Not because we’re calling for personal information to be exposed, but we’re calling for their actions to be called out. Creating a secret list to filter people out on a platform to be called out. Just as it was.

  • The main thing I’m aiming for is, I imagine, the same. Sony to reverse course and/or regulations/legislation to be implemented in favor of consumer protections.

They aim to let PlayStation see the numbers in agreement behind the want for physical media. That’s it. Just physical media. Stopping within a time frame, as a group, speaks volumes for that.

I agree with all of that. What I disagree with is the method of affecting change. Sony already sees the reaction and I’m sure its outlasted their initial expectations. Again, a week of people not signing in is a blip on the radar. I say this as someone in the tech industry. And more than just physical discs, which is a big part, I do believe this is about the consumer protections they offer as well, which have been peeled back with day 1 patches, keys on cards and discs rather than files, etc.

I’m entirely unclear on what you’re trying to actually achieve, though. You want to abstain from PlayStation forever, that’s it? I don’t see why you are engaging in discussion about it, if you’re just done, be done.

As I mentioned above, my goal would be to preserve physical media and consumer protections in regards to games. To accomplish this you need to appear as a credible threat to the bottom line, not throwing a temper tantrum that can be calculated and waited out. I, already, am done personally, but this is a public forum. Others who are aligned can see and learn from discussion.

If you have a free week to sit outside some PlayStation headquarters, go do. I would suggest less people have that ability, than the number that have the ability to show, how many in numbers they are, by abstaining for a week.

I’m also not American and I don’t live in America. If you think your way is better, rather than sprout off, go gather numbers and organise.

Less people do have that ability. That is exactly why mentioned that organizers’ time would be better spent organizing mass mobilization instead of multiple intermittent blackouts.

And I already have, not for Sony, but for ICE, Tesla Takedown, and DeFlock. I’m working on helping fight against the privacy invasion and laws we’re facing regarding age verification, digital personal privacy, etc. I’m only one person though. I’m recommending to the organizers of this boycott on more effective strategies to achieve their outcomes and would even further recommend aligning with the SKG movements as they should be aligned in these goals, preserving games and media.
