Yeah, that’s something that’ll never change.

I gotta eat so yeah. Say what you want but at the end of the day none of you haters are gonna pay my rent. This is the world we live in. Until I have any other options, I’ll be going with what pays. Companies don’t give a shit about your personal opinion. You either adapt or they’ll fire you and find somebody else. Then what? I can sit in my house reading my eviction notice thinking “I really showed those assholes!”?
Yeah, since I’m heavily “encouraged” (more like forced) to use it for work, I at least try my best to actually get something out of it! I have been in the IT industry for over 20 years and know just like any new technology, you either learn it while embracing change (even if you do it kicking and screaming) or you miss opportunities for better positions either where you’re at or elsewhere. I can’t afford to lose my job nor can I afford to miss out on opportunities just because I hate the direction my industry is going.
I mean, sure I can go against it while losing my job because I refuse to adapt… Then I’m starving to death but at least I kept it real? Where I work they have already performed a “reorg” laying off 10% and replacing an entire department with AI. I can resist in my personal life all I want but if my industry is going this direction all I can do is openly give my opinion (I do) while still going along with the changes happening.
It truly depends on how you use AI. I use it as a tool at work to help me learn along with other things and it works great! The people that use it to learn for them are the ones that get nothing out of it.
For instance, I’m learning a subject and I’m stuck. It’s stupid specific. I then get told the right answer but don’t understand why it’s the right answer.
Then using AI, I give the question and answer asking it to explain why. It then teaches me to figure out the why and creating a similar question for me to answer and get either right or wrong.
The people that are just using it to get the answer to the question in the first place aren’t learning anything.
I personally don’t like AI but it isn’t going anywhere. Since my industry has decided to use it heavily, I have to adapt or become irrelevant.
Then come the zoomies when they snap back to reality

No lie though, I’ll still eat at a place even if they use AI on their menu. Not because I don’t notice or frown when I see it but it’s specifically because I’m a fatty and love food.

19·1 month agoI agree with you but that first pic is a bit deceiving. Like it’s pushing the meat towards the camera more while squeezing the back to make it look bigger. Trust me, I’m an expert and making meat look bigger in a picture than it actually is!
Picturing somebody sitting in one of those grocery stores deli’s opening a can of something like black beans and beginning to chug while chewing with bean sludge dripping down their chin gave me a pretty good chuckle
Well, yeah but are they ready to go for you to eat immediately plates and even a fork is optional?
Yeah, usually during very early morning sex. Like that your eyes are barely open and you don’t even know how you started having sex or who started it but it’s in full swing by the time you come to. Sometimes during that time, I feel nothing when I cum. It’s not fun but rolling over and going back to bed surely is!
Anyway, if you’re experiencing this on your own, try not spanking the ham for a bit and you’ll get back to normal.
Shit man one upon a time those chicken’s were like $5 a pop. Cheapest and fastest way of getting a ton of protein in by far. Now not so much. The last time I bought one I think it was double that in price. This is why we can’t have nice things. Companies gotta get greedy.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why is AOC a big deal? She just speaks common sense and calls out absurdity. Have we really gone that far off the rails where we don't do it ourselves?
13·1 month agoTo answer your final question. Yes. American politics has gone so far off the rails that AOC speaking common sense is something that is no longer normal.
For example: “We should feed children too poor to buy school lunches!”
“Nooooo that’s SoCiAlIsM!”
Meanwhile bailing out a bank because their friend’s stock gamble didn’t pay off is just the American way
American politics: Socialism for the elite, capitalism for everyone else.
This is the BASIC bullshit that AOC and people like her call out and she’s labeled an extremist for it.
I hate it here.
I don’t even own a PlayStation and haven’t since the PS3 but I truly hope Sony takes a financial hit on this one. Others such as Microsoft and Nintendo are paying very close attention to the results. If they manage to get away with this you know other consoles won’t be far behind them. Hell, they already tried around 2020 causing the start of the whole GameStop short fiasco. Now they’re trying to do it once again.
That being said, Sony doesn’t give a flying fuck about a blackout. You want to really hit them where it hurts? Dump them. It’s the only way.
I tried as a kid (maybe 10 or 11?). I for sure could not reach including my tongue. I assume I still can’t today and have no urge to find out. Especially after watching Shortbus.

I’m not some DNC loving hardcore Dem or anything but I do tend to lean left on most of my views.

Nice of them to make a line to break it in half. That wasn’t a common thing in my day.
